#AccessibilityFailFriday week 2: Another job application mandatory field that shouldn’t be mandatory.
No one wants to write a custom cover letter for every job application. And yet, on this job application it is required. I wonder how many of these actually get read? Or how many times something is abstracted out of them that is useful in the candidates progression talking to a human. I think the answer to both questions is “very few”
Don’t be surprised if by the end of the year almost every cover letter is generated in large part by some form of Generative AI. Which isn’t going to tell anyone anything but will waste less of the candidate’s time.
