There is no accessibility 'quick fix' Good accessibility requires systemic culture change.
There is no accessibility fairy.
No tool will make a website WCAG compliant with only one line of code changed (and a monthly payment, indefinitely of course)
On multiple occasions, I’ve had salespeople ask me for one of those “completed ACR/VPAT documents” so they could put in a bid, for a product where an audit had never been completed. Salespeople think that these documents can be generated out of thin air, in 30 minutes. The barrier, from the salesperson’s point of view, is the barrier to the sale, not the barrier to disabled people being able to use the software.
For most products of average levels of complexity, going from no accessibility to a decent ACR/VPAT is an 18-month process. Minimum.
It takes 18 months because lasing accessibility change comes from culture change, and culture change is slow.
So don’t be bamboozled by an overlay and think by using it you are going to be able to avoid that 18 months of hard work.
There are many companies who use overlays who have been sued who will be quick to tell you that approach doesn’t work.
